Terms of Service

The agreement

These terms govern your use of BuiltSites services provided by Empire OS Ltd. By submitting your details or proceeding with a site build, you agree to these terms. If you have questions, contact us at hello@builtsites.co.uk before proceeding.

Our no-risk promise

We build your site before you pay. You will receive a live staging link within 48 hours. If you do not wish to proceed after viewing your site, you owe us nothing and we will take the staging site down. No invoice will be raised.

Payment is only collected once you have approved the site and confirmed you want to go live.

Pricing and payment

All prices are as quoted at the time of agreement. Setup fees are one-time charges covering build, onboarding, and first deployment. Monthly fees cover hosting, maintenance, and module subscriptions.

Payments are processed via GoCardless (Direct Debit) or Stripe. You will be notified in advance of any payment date. We do not store payment card details on our servers.

Cancellation

There are no lock-in contracts. Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled at any time with 30 days' notice. Upon cancellation, your site will remain live until the end of your final billing period, after which it will be taken offline.

You may export your content and media at any time by contacting us. We will provide a ZIP file of your site assets within 5 working days of a written request.

Your responsibilities

Intellectual property

Upon full payment, you own the content and copy on your website. The underlying template framework and build system remain the property of Empire OS Ltd. You are free to host the exported HTML on any platform after cancellation.

Limitation of liability

BuiltSites is not liable for loss of business, revenue, or data resulting from downtime, third-party service failures (e.g. Vercel, Google), or events outside our control. Our total liability is limited to the total fees paid by you in the 3 months preceding any claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of English courts.
